A true challenge of the Christian is the opportunity to bring the story of Christ to the atheist. Kyle Butt has the graceful skill of this appeal and was with us tonight to speak about this evangelism graced with love and truth. This will make you think!
It's not really a secret when your life is centered on the Lord's will, but it's a beautiful scripture that gives one hope and the ambition to rely on the Lord, and depend on Him to be the source of a soaring and endless strength.
As our Heavenly Father, God has ordained the responsibilities of fatherhood as a loving provider and leader of his family. Society has made a huge mistake by allowing our fathers to be unaccountable to the family, and the consequences can be seen in the lives of children without a father. Thus, on this Father's Day, our prayer is for the return of strong, responsible fathers that will lead their families by God's design.
Looking at king David's message to his son Solomon, the new king, there was a task before him that required firm footing in devotion and loyalty to God. Today, we must face life's challenges with equal devotion to knowing and serving God.
In a world of excuses, we're rarely challenged with a rationale of why it's not our fault. In terms of our reasons for salvation, God has already removed our excuses for the opportunity to touch His grace, except for the excuses we choose to create to abandon that hope.
The effects of sin in our lives can be extensive, and ultimately separates us from God. But God has given us the plan that returns us to His love through repentance, but we must break that slavery to sin first.
A mere fact of life is that there are troublesome times. Life as a Christian will see trouble from the expectations of others outside the faith. Some will experience actual persecution, but our Lord knows that with the pain, we become stronger and the glory of God is exalted.
How do we view the church and the relationship with Christ? A winning model of consistency can be found in the Bible for the relationships of the family, husband and wife, the church and Christ, and the Christian with God.
Each generation is blessed through the commitment shown by our Mothers. Many of God's promises and their fulfillment are provided through our Mothers. Thank God and give Him the honor for the gifts provided by our Mothers.
In today's vast assortment of religious choices, how do we narrow in on a single choice - or do we have to? That process begins with one God, one Son, one salvation, and that one God who gave one set of instructions on how to worship Him. There is the original Church of which Jesus Christ is the Head and has not evolved or changed ownership at any time. Let's look at it...
We should count it a priviledge to be on the list as an invitee to a special occasion that is meaningful to the hosts. God's Son has extended such an invitation to all of us for a special eternity to be spent with Him. How will you respond?
In the struggles of life, when little hope remains, what is your source of strength - where can you turn? God is that source, He has the answers, and remains that steadfast hope for anyone who calls on Him.
Our belief today is of a risen Christ through a resurrection that conquered the bounds of death. This victory fulfills the promise of a life that can be found through Christ's sacrifice and rewards us with an eternal home with God. Where are you looking for this life?
The central theme to all life here and the hereafter is drawn from Christ's life and sacrifice on the cross. The power that is revealed in His resurrection culminates the salvation that is found in our Savior.
With the variety of choices that fill our lives, some of those are a must do when our eternity depends on it. These are not things that can be negotiated or compromised, but are choices we will give an answer for to our Lord and Judge, whether for good or evil.
Can we ever be that sure of anything? While trust in man can often challenge the confidence of integrity, our confidence in God's promises should be unshakable, never questioned, resolute, and sought with a firm commitment.
It could be said that there is an art to hearing. It's fully half of the responsibility to gaining effective communication. With hearing, there must be understanding and accountability. Hearing God's Word has an eternal accountability.
The basis of our fellowship with one another should be grounded in love. Our daily walk of worship to God depends on it, also. But what can our collective worship be to one another in fellowship? Let's look at the strengths of that foundation.
Whether we realize it or not, desire it or not, our influence can reach beyond perceived limits, whether good or bad. We are an example for someone, but what kind of example are we being? Who has been an example for you in your life?
God created us in His image and His will for us is to be like Him. While it is so easy to become a cheap copy of the sinful likeness of the world, we must be changed, transformed, to an eternal creature into our Lord's salvation by overcoming the sin that surrounds us.
In our life of reaching for eternal salvation, understand that heaven has completed their promise for your salvation. All that is going to be provided for your salvation has been suffered and given. Our responsibility lies within our obedience to God's will, to which, we shall all be judged.
A more central theme to God's will for us cannot be found than to love as He has loved us. Our prayer is that we could love with the grace and compassion that God has shown us.
Much can be said, and is often debated, about the purpose of baptism in one's conversion to a life in Christ Jesus. The scriptures are replete with examples that reference the salvation one is placed in contact with through baptism. Let's keep a simple command with the simple action by restoring the confirming sign of conversion as the faithful act of baptism.
We're all familiar with the slim margins of victory over the first loser in the field of athletic competition. And that victory can be realized with just an ounce more of effort than the closest competitor. So, what if we met that margin of extra effort in our Christian attitude, our worship of service to others, and our responsibilty of evangelizing the world? Could it make a difference?
Among the many choices we make during our life, some have more eternal consequences than others and should demand more of our consideration. Do we choose to seek carnal rewards of this world or do we choose to follow the words of our Lord and Savior in search of a spiritual reward?
